Beginner yoga poses are ideal for a new student (aged under 50), who may not have any prior training, or history of following any other exercise regime. These poses comprise of two different levels:
- The First Level (Warm-Ups): The First Level poses are ideal for students who are absolute beginners and have limited knowledge of yoga. These poses include simple and easy stretches for warming-up the body. The poses exert minimal pressure on the joints and muscles, and hence the effort required in doing these poses is less. It is easy to move in and out of these beginner yoga poses. Also, practicing the poses without adequate assistance is easy and minimizes the risk of an injury.
- The Second Level: The Second Level beginner yoga poses focuses on deeper stretching of specific muscles and joints. These poses set a strong foundation and prepare the students for the next-level yoga poses – intermediate and advanced yoga poses. Students can perform these poses with or without assistance. At the same time, if need be, teachers may offer slow-paced directions and instructions for these poses. Furthermore, students can start practicing these sets of poses after warming up the body with the first level beginner yoga poses.
